Treating Complex Trauma with Internal Family Systems

Intimate Exposure: What Our Sexual Relationships Reveal About Us

In long-term relationships, sexual behavior serves as a revealing lens through which a couple's functioning can be observed. As practitioners, we can glean valuable insights from these intimate interactions and use what they expose to work with a couple’s (often shared) anxiety around desire, openness, and intimate connection.

Bridging the Gap: An IFS Informed Training to Advance Basic Knowledge Before Level 1 Certification

Part 1:  September 18, Part 2: September 25 | 2 General CE hours | Virtual

Presenter: Nicole von Niederhausern, LMFT

This program is a 2 part live interactive video conference meeting that spans two evenings a week apart. The first day will cover information all the learning objectives, while the second day (a week later to give clinicians time to practice these skills and come back with questions) will be focused on answering questions, exploring stuck points, and practicing through role plays.

Clinicians will be able to:

  • Identify and differentiate between Managers, Firefighters, and Exiles within client systems, using IFS language and framework.
  • Demonstrate the ability to locate, access, and maintain Self-energy in the therapeutic relationship, even in the presence of intense client Parts.
  • Guide clients in establishing relationships with their protective Parts, promoting internal trust and healing.
  • Facilitate unburdening processes with clients in a safe, structured, and ethically sound manner.
  • Recognize and work skillfully with therapist Parts that may arise during sessions, enhancing therapeutic presence and clarity.
  • Adapt the IFS model to a variety of clinical presentations, including trauma and relational challenges.

Artificial Intelligence in the Therapist's Chair: Ethics, Practice, and Progress

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming mental healthcare, presenting both exciting opportunities and complex challenges for therapists.
